I love art, working with people, business & marketing - My job is perfect, it involves all the things I love and allows me to share what I love about them with you!

I opened my first art and antique shop in California in 1979 and have been in some area of wholesale or retail trade ever since. In 2002 my husband, youngest daughter and I moved to the UK. We have lived in rural Herefordshire for the past eight years though our passion for contemporary art involves regular visits to various cities and extended stays in London.

I started five different businesses in the UK, but eventually decided to focus my energy on my greatest passion, visual art. In 2007 I founded the Cork Street Open Exhibition, an international event that attracts entries from around the world, raising the profile of emerging artists and benefiting a different children's charity each year.

I also publish OPEN EXHIBITION a free E-Zine for artists interested in raising their profile and building their CVs by entering competitions and open exhibitions.

I believe business consists of relationships between individuals, where goods and services are valued and exchanged at a mutually agreed price. On that same basis I believe artists should be proud to present their work in a professional, business-like way and that the selling of art is not a "sell out" of one's creativity or artistic expression.

While I still find myself speaking and spelling American rather than English, I also believe that honest and direct communication can be a useful tool for self and professional development so if you're ready to hear my take on where you need to go next with your practice then stick around, enroll in an online course, or sign up for a eight or sixteen week personal coaching session.

My father always used to say, "No one said it's going to be easy." What I learned later is, "It isn't always easy, but it is simple." You just have to learn what it is and do it.
